Turbocharger systems
Turbochargers can be installed without modification to the standard engine provided levels of boost are controlled to safe levels. For race or extreme road applications engine modifications are required which may include special pistons, connecting rods and lubrication system modifications. We can advise on the best components to ensure a reliable engine configuration.
Boost Control systems
Basic boost control is carried out by a spring in the wastegate which allows excessive pressure to bleed out of the system at a set pressure. To enable progressive control of boost pressure, to suit the intended use, an electronic programmable controller is required. We can install these together with the necessary sensors and activators and advise on their use.
Engine Management
The control of Fuel and ignition is paramount to the performance and longevity of a tuned engine. This can be carried out using a “piggy-back” module working in conjunction with the stock ECU, or using a stand alone ECU. Many of the high end units such as the Motec offer boost, traction and launch control. We can advise you and undertake the installation of any of these systems.
